Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
CommunityLink (FAQ)
CommunityLink is a verified online directory that connects people and families with local resources — from healthcare and food access to childcare, housing, and community services. Unlike traditional listings, CommunityLink includes both nonprofit and private businesses that are committed to giving back and supporting their communities.
211 primarily lists government or nonprofit programs. CommunityLink goes further by including verified businesses, clinics, and organizations that offer free or reduced services, outreach events, and impact programs. It’s a one-stop hub for all types of community help — public, private, and local.
Yes! CommunityLink is completely free for residents and community members. You can browse listings, find help, and access resources at no cost.
CommunityLink is developed and managed by Hendricks Consulting & Co., a social impact consulting firm that helps organizations design outreach and wellness programs that make measurable community impact.
We’re starting in Connecticut and expanding to Jamaica as part of our global impact pilot. Our long-term goal is to grow CommunityLink across states and countries — connecting every community to verified help and local impact partners.
Every business or organization listed goes through a verification process to confirm its legitimacy, good standing, and safety. Listings are reviewed by trained students and Community Health Worker (CHW) interns under the Certified Community Resource Specialist (CCRS) program to ensure accuracy and credibility.
No. We take privacy seriously. All survey results are collected anonymously and only used in aggregate form to help improve local services and community programs. No personal or identifying data is ever shared or sold.
For Businesses & Organizations
Businesses can create a profile and submit their community offerings — such as free days, volunteer events, or discounted services — through our online application form. Once verified, your listing will appear in the directory and you’ll be eligible for Direct Impact Certification.
It’s our official recognition for businesses that operate ethically and give back to the communities they serve. Certified partners earn the CommunityLink Direct Impact Badge, receive directory visibility, and gain access to outreach data and promotional tools from Hendricks Consulting.
Certification is currently free during our pilot phase. As we expand, additional membership tiers may become available with enhanced analytics, marketing exposure, and consulting support.
We recognize a wide range of community contributions, including:
- Offering free or low-cost services
- Hosting or sponsoring community events
- Donating products, meals, or supplies
- Providing internships or mentorships
- Supporting crisis or disaster relief efforts
Certification lasts 12 months. Renewal requires a brief update to confirm your continued impact, current licensing, and any new community initiatives.
Certification may be paused or revoked if a business engages in unethical behavior, false advertising, or fails to meet verification standards. Our goal is to maintain the highest level of trust for users and the community.
Yes! Sponsors and community partners can advertise on our kiosks, website, or reports. Sponsorships help us expand outreach, fund student internships, and strengthen impact measurement tools.
For Students, Volunteers, & CHWs
The CCRS program trains students, volunteers, and community health workers to verify listings, collect data, and connect residents with resources. It’s an opportunity to gain real-world field experience and earn internship or community service hours.
No. We provide free online training that covers community health, ethics, data collection, and how to verify organizations. All you need is a willingness to learn and a commitment to helping your community.
Yes. Upon completing the CCRS training and passing the final assessment, you’ll receive an official CommunityLink Certificate of Completion, which can be added to your resume or LinkedIn profile.
Yes. If you’re using the CommunityLink platform through BuddyBoss + LearnDash, your hours, verified listings, and activities can be tracked automatically for course credit or volunteer reporting.
