Food program works to help improve the health of low-income persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious food products provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Food is provided on the first Thursday of the month: 10am-12noon. Eligible seniors with income below 130% of the Federal Poverty Level receive a monthly food package. Each food package is valued at approximately $50 and includes a variety of foods, such as milk, juice, farina, oats, ready-to-eat cereal, rice, pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, poultry, or fish, and canned fruits and vegetables.
