Shelter care for any southwest CT child, newborn to 18 who is not safe at home. Comprehensive care includes home-like environment, onsite Health Center, child and family counseling, educational services, and therapeutic recreation. Staff is trained in trauma-informed care. All interactions and activities informed by positive youth development principles. Children may refer themselves, or be referred by family, friends, neighbors, agencies, schools, police, hospitals, courts – anyone concerned with their well-being.
