Department funds leisure education to get clients involved in community-based activities and to promote participation and personal competence. Community agencies contract with the Department to provide the direct services. Camp Harkness has cabins which can be used for residential camping by anyone with disabilities and their families. Winter camping in heated cabins is possible. Also, Camp Harkness offers swimming, picnic facilities, and recreational activities for persons with disabilities and their family and friends.
