Bill Forgiveness Program (BFP)
Minimum account balance is $500, with minimum 90 days delinquent; Customer must be coded hardship; No bankruptcy accounts are allowed; Customer must make a minimum payment of 20% of the past due balance; This is a twelve-month program; Customers must be willing to make payments on time and every month, even during moratorium. A monthly BFP installment agreement will be developed after the minimum or initial payment is made. -Customer does not have to be employed to qualify, but customers collecting Unemployment Compensation benefits (UC) must be on UC for at least 60 days or more, need to document their status by faxing or mailing their initial letter of approval, and provide the latest check stub or the online deposit verification. Must have applied for CEAP or Operation Fuel energy assistance; If CEAP, must send a copy of the eligibility confirmation letter before 4/30;a) Re-document unemployment status every 90 days. b)If re-documenting is not completed, a letter will be sent to update the unemployment status within 10 days or removal from the BFP program will occur. Customers who have completed BFP or have previously defaulted on the BFP program can re-apply after three (3) years.
