Early Head Start and Head Start programs promote the school readiness of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children from low-income families. Head Start offers comprehensive services to support both the child and their family in the areas of high-quality Early Learning and Development, Health, and Family Well-Being. Head Start partners with parents, guardians, and community organizations to coordinate and provide needed access to services. Head Start programs are available at no cost for children ages prenatal to five who qualify including families experiencing homelessness, and children in the foster care system. Additionally, Head Start services are available to children with disabilities and other special needs.
