Program uses 3D printers to create free 3D printed hands and arms for those in need of an upper limb assistive device. Students can get involved and learn new STEM skills. Open to Connecticut residents ages 14-18 years old.

Students will learn the process of additive manufacturing, CAD design, and post processing while engaging in a meaningful project intent on helping those in need. Students will work with instructors to contribute designs and prototypes. Open-source 3D printable designs for hands and arms for those who were born missing fingers or who have lost them due to war, disease or natural disaster.

10 students meet 1 night a week for 3 hours (5:30-8:30pm) for 8 weeks. Program includes 24 hours of project-based development at the tech lab in downtown Hartford. Program includes meals, materials, and take-home projects.
